6 Mile Trail Run

My log of becoming a "triathlete" at age 48, and continuing through age 55.
6 Mile trail run in heat and humidity and mosquitos with periodic stops for exercises. Brutal.
Rode bike for 30 minutes, lifted weights, then rode bike for 20 minutes,, lifted some more weights, then ran a mile.
Hill run got rained out so we went to playground and had a somewhat disorganized workout. I went home and rode bike for a half an hour.
Ran the Extreme Scramble in Hartford on the riverfront with Chevaughn. Ran easy. The route was along the river, included some stairs and hills. We finished in 34:33. It didn't feel like we had run a 5K, so I guess that helps some. Obviously, I could have run faster, but Chevaughn hasn't been running and we were just taking it easy. After wards, I had three beers --Hooker Summer Ale, mine, Chevaughn's and another I bought for $4. I was glad we went-beautiful summer night, no humidity. I never regret it when I do a race.
Class was canceled due to rain and possbility of lightning. Instead, I went to gym and rode bike for a half hour, then lifted weights.
We did a short run, then went down into Trout Brook and walked against the rapids in thigh deep water and climbed up and down the bank. Later we went to the Fit Playground and practiced monkey bars, scaling a 9 foot wall and climbing a cargo net. All good practice, but not tryuly a fitness workout. I did pull a muscle in my left lateral rib cage, which I didn't feel until I got home.
Did lots of strength training exercises at work today and then ran 2.4 when I came home. My legs felt very tired. My feet hurt tonight, so i am icing them.
Rode for 20 minutes, then lifted some weights, did some pushups, then rode for 10 minutes. Still very tired from Tuesday's run.
Tuesday night run. First mile we did what was called poswer hike, then four milws of running, then a mile of power hike with some strength training thrown in along the way.
Got off work early, slept for a couple hours and then instead of going to the Fit Playground, which I thought would be too much for me, I went to the gym across the street, and did a little biking, some lifting and some more biking.
Ran 4.5 miles on the trail with the group with stops every half mile for strength training. It was very humid and hard to run. I ran much slower than normal, but was not the slowest. When it came to jumping exercises afterwards, I clearly have less spring in my legs than anyone else. I don't know whether it is my size, my age or my condition, I just have no spring at all. The good thing about this class is I would never have pushed myself to this degree running on my own, the bad thing was I had to lay in bed most of the day afterward.
