Swim
Swam after work
My log of becoming a "triathlete" at age 48, and continuing through age 55.
Swam today after taking yesterday off. After the workout, I did some good swimming keeping my hed down and working on form.
Swam today. Banged my foot doing a flip turn. I swam in the faster lanes, was a bit tired. Did 3000 yards total. Galen gave me some good flip turn pointers. I am going to start judging the tuns based on the T at the bottom of the pool rather than the wall. Hopefully that will help with some speed.
Swam. Did a 50 race at the end of the night and beat two women swimmers, who are very good, but I semi jumped the start. I do like racing even when I am tired.
Stpped after work and swam for 20 minutes. Was a bit tired when I tried to swim hard. Mainly just did an easy working on the breathing every four strokes.
I swam today and swam very well. When I am rested, I go so much better. I was outswimming people who are usually faster than me. i was also, doing some seriously explosive flip turns. felt good.
I qualified for the World Master's Championship!
Swam pretty well tonight. having a three day rest was helpful. We did a fun drill where we swam a 50 on 60 seconds, then one on 59, then 58, etc. I did 11, then stopped, not wanting to wear myszelf out too much. At the end of the session I did a 90% 50 pushoff from the wall on 34 just for timing.
Did some sprint workouts with Chris, the coach. it was very helpful, but got I tired quick. Goiung all out or even 90% takes it out of me. At end of night, I did a 100 in 1:18, but I was pooped.
Swam. i think i have my breathing figured out for the 100. i just have to breath every fourth stroke. that should get me to the end.
Went to pool by myself to try some 100's. very discouraging. trying to get the pacing right. I did a 100 in around 1:14-1:15, but got very tired.
