Lift/Swim
Lifted for about 20 minutes, working mainly on assisted pullups and dips. Later swam for 20 minutes during Zoey's lesson.
My log of becoming a "triathlete" at age 48, and continuing through age 55.

Woke up it was raining. No class this morning. No wait a minute. This is tough mudder training. Shortly thereafter, I am running along a muddy trail hearing the teacher shout, "embrace the mud! Embrace the mud!' Class ended with crawling on the wet, gritty road.
Went to gym early this morning and felt too weak and tired to do much of anything.
Today we ran up this huge hill and then back down and up it again. We did it three times, but then there was thunder and lightning in the distance so we called it a night. Total of 3 miles run. The instructer has said we will become well aquainted with this hill. Fun.
Made my first appearance at the Fit Playground for an optional Tough Mudder training. I was sweating like a dog within 5 minutes. I forget about the intensity of the workouts. There is just no way I can workout at that intensity myself. On the other hand, sometimes I feel the intensity is so great, I don't get sufficient muscle recovery to benefit. Still I will try to get there as often as I can. I am thinking, Monday evenings, Wednesday mornings and Friday mornings. Workout started with the typical warm up of jumping jacks, squats, pushups, etc. There were only six of us there so we each got a station and then rotated every couple of minutes. The first stations were. Pushups with one hand on a elevated platform, five on each side continuously. Then you hung by your elbows and did bicyle spins in the air with your legs. Then monkey bars, either move on them, or just hang, which is what I did. Rope climb where you pulled yourself up from a laying position and then tried to climb a wall. A rope swing where you jumped on the rope and swung over to a trampoline and then swung back. Then one where your legs were suspended and you crawled on your hands in sort of a plank position. After three rotations, we got six new assignments. laying on ground with legs up, using your arms to wave ropes constantly, doing lunges with heavy weights, mountain climbers on a slippery surface, doing fast lag work side by side, then stepping over a hurdle and back again, standing on a balance beam and pulling weight from machine for balance, and one where you jumped from side to side over a bench. I could do some of the exercises, others I had to modify. Afterwards, we did a tabata of standing, squating, jumping legs back to plank position, then jumping legs back front and up and repeat for forty seconds, then twenty seconds of squats.Eight times. I went through one water bottle of water and one water bottle of protein drink. It was a bit of a humid evening too boot.
Did a four mile tought mudder trail run this morning. It was quite a workout. Running up and down hills on rocks and over tree limbs, ducking under branches. Afterwards we did some strength training. I could only do 12 pushups I was so beat.
My neck was stiff today, but the feet felt okay. Went to the park and did some obstacle practice with the girls. Very light
Had my first tough mudder training tonight. Ran hill repeats, and then did some lunges and other exercises. I am estimating I ran about 3.5 miles. Will write more about class later.
Rode an hour watching Game of Thrones. An hour on that bike is not that easy, but I kept at it.
Went to Park with Zoey afterwork. I did some pushups and squats at work, but not too many.
Ran slow with lots of padding in sneakers. We'll see how the heel feels tomorrow. I am icing foot now.
Rode the bike for 10 minutes/lifted, then rode for 20 minutes at the gymn. Am using the pullup/dip machine.
Dead, dead tired when I came home from work. Could not workout. Took a nap, then went down to the basement and rode the bike for an hour while watching Game of Thrones. I can't say enough about having that bike.
Busy at work today. I only was able to do 2 sets of 30 pushups and 30 squats.
Rode 12 Miles outside on a beautiful morning. Kudos to me for getting up and daring to ride again. I had to ump my tires which were flat. I did not feel too out of shape, I had some burn in the legs going up some hills, but nothing too bad. Big confidence booster to be out there. I just have to keep getting on the bike as often as I can.
