FINA Masters - 50 Meters Free- 8-6-2014

I had to get 34:00 to get an official time.  I made the time with 33:59 and also won my heat.  Here I am below in lane 4.  I was in the first heat of my age group.  Only two of us made the time.  Overall I came in 95 of 125 who raced.  Only 99 made the time.

I was a little late with my dive.  They had us standing on the block for a long time before they said take your marks.  I didn't want to loose my balance.   Once in, I swam very fast, breathing every sixth stroke until the last 15 meters or so when I stopped breathing.  I swam long and hard and did not get tired.  I felt like I had a bit of a kick at the end.  So glad I made the time.
