7 Mile Bike
Rode 7 miles real slow.
My log of becoming a "triathlete" at age 48, and continuing through age 55.
Swam 1 mile at the pool. I should swim at least a mile everytime I swim.
Ran the resovouir today. Around once, and then from the end to the beginning of the course (?1/4 mile) and then to the two mile mark. It took me about an hour. The two miles I ran on the second loop are the hardest ones. The last mile is all down hill. It gave me some confidence for the run next week. I did run slow.
Did a light lift at the gymn and then swam 72 laps. i swam surprisingly well for such a long layoff.
I ran around the other resovouir today. Didn't time myself. I run slow and am tired. The 6.5 miles on the 4th seems like a lot.
Ran 4 miles at the park. I was tired, but kept plugging, making the third loop. it's all about willpower.
Ran somewhere between 2.5 and 2.75 miles at a great wood chip track in Florida. The track in a park is a little longer than 1.25 miles. Very easy on the legs. It was much more humid than I am used to. I am hoping to run again on Sunday and go around three times. I need to increase my lung run to at least 5 miles before the April 4 1/4 marathon.
I've been busy at work, so I was lucky to finally get on the bike at the end of the shift and bang out 7 miles before crew change. The 7 miles seems to be going pretty quick even though I am only going only 10 mph. Maybe I am just getting more comfortable in the saddle. If I weren't always so tired when I came to work, I should just get on the bike at the begining and see how far I could go.
Ran the reservoir for the first time since last fall. I went slow and did not time myself. I have a little more than three weeks until the quartermarathon -- two times around the loop.
Ran for 33 minutes along the road. I didn't measure the route, but guessing at my pace, it was 3 miles. I do enjoy the road running. Not boring.
Around and around. At least the weather was great today. Took me an hour to go 10 miles. That's 14 loops.
Did some light lifting at the gym, followed by 25 minutes on the stationary bike, going 6 miles.
Ran outside on the roads today while waiting to pick Ashley up from basketball practice. When I measured it later, I ran 2.4 miles in 27 minutes. I sort of enjoyed running on a new unfamiliar route.
Rode 5 miles in 32 minutes in the cold. When I started my back tire was wobbling. I stopped and took the bike back in the garage and looked at it. I ended up letting the air out and then repumping it and then it went fine. I think I had overingflated it before. The gague on my pump may be wrong, but it was solid with muchless than the required amount.
